Past Events

Book Reading at the Lamanda Park Branch Library

Past Event, Jan 10, 2026.

It was a lovely bright room, with my novels arrayed on a table. Christine Reeder, the charming librarian had invited me to read at their monthly author event. I read a beginning chapter from A Reluctant Spy. The audience was small but appreciative. A merry atmosphere pervaded the room, and many of us went out to dinner afterward.

Pasadena Book Club

Past Event, October 2025.

Meeting with the Pasadena Book Club at the Pasadena Town House. They were kind and complimentary about my novel, and then they treated me to an exquisite lunch at the Town House.

Meeting Holly Adams

Past Event, Summer 2025.

First meeting with Holly Adams, the brilliant voice actor who narrates the audiobooks for A Reluctant Spy and The Fourth Woman. We were at the Triphammer Mall in Ithaca, and it was love at first sight. We chatted and hammed it up for hours.

San Gabriel High School 50th Reunion for Class of 74

Past Event, May 2025.

My first teaching job in the USA. I was newly married, 23 years old, teaching Seniors who were just about my age! What a lark! I loved every minute of those carefree years.

And here I am, living in Pasadena, 50 years later! And somehow, Teresa Schumm, the class president (and my student in 1974!), managed to unearth me and invite me to the 50th reunion of the class of 74!

What an event this was, traveling the halls of the old school, being treated like royalty at the reunion, with all my old “girls!”

Vintage Ladies Get-Togethers

Past Event, 2025.

The Vintage Writers are all over 70, movers and shakers, writers and producers. We meet by Zoom every Tuesday; so the physical meetings are special, like lunch together on July 27 at Wood Ranch Restaurant. Also a special lunch at Kim Gottfred-Walker’s lovely house in Laurel Canyon.

Note: Kim is the super-glue and rocket fuel that got this all started.
